2023 - ongoing
‘The Bura Suite’ is an interdisciplinary sci-fi fairy tale set in a speculative future on an Earth almost completely covered in water, on which the mountain Velebit remains as one of the last existing pieces of land. In the story, two women head off searching for the wind Bura on a specialized raft, throughout the vast ocean that came to cover most of Earth’s surface. During their exploratory travels, they hope to decipher the language of Bura (the wind) and the sea, through reflections of light and wind movements. The understanding of this language, they believe, could help them communicate with the wind Bura and enable them to find answers to their burning questions about the complex history of the world and all beings.
The project so far encompasses an artist book containing the foundational narrative for the piece, an audio-visual performance, a short film and a series of silkscreen and riso prints. It is intended to be long-term and multimedial, providing a variety of experiences within a fictional universe.

The First Movement: Book
The story follows two women scientists who are seduced by the idea that the wind, sea and other natural phenomena are more than the surface reveals; the idea that they are indeed ancient conscious entities. Driven by an insatiable desire for knowledge, they embark on a search for Bura, the oldest wind on the planet, in hope she will provide them with answers for their burning questions.
But what happens when, after years of research, Bura disappears? When the long-term stagnation takes over, and women have to face their own subconscious, questioning reality and their idealistic values?
The story leads us through the three detrimental days of their years-long search; their struggles with each-other and ultimately, within themselves.
