Elena is an intermedia artist and designer from Croatia. The basis of her artistic practice is experience- and image-making, be it on paper, screen or stage. From printmaking to scenography and light design; from performance to writing, each work brings a challenge of creating specific hybrid methods that enable each respective piece to become alive.

The thread that goes through all of her work is powered by an urge to create a liminal space in which emotions and sensations become almost material: a space where the idea of ‘human’ links closer to the idea of ‘nature’ and where borders between ideas are just a playful illusion. In this space, where we are simply hallucinating each other’s existence, anything is possible if you are conscious of that thought.

So far, Elena has exhibited or performed in various places in Europe, including MSU and HDLU in Zagreb (HR), Dutch National Opera and H*art Museum in Amsterdam (NL) and OKNa Gallery in Porto (PT).
